Vicky Lovecat are an Amsterdam based alternative rock band and will release their debut album ”No Praise No Blame (Selected Confessions and Status Updates) in February 2011. This 3 piece outfit presents Jasmine Wynants on vocals and guitar, Kimmo Lindholm on bass and Srdjan Ivanovic on drums.
Jasmine is originally Belgian but grew up in Singapore and the Netherlands. In 1998 she moved to Amsterdam.
She co-fronted the Jack Stafford Foundation with whom she released 3 studio albums and toured all over the world.
During these endeavours the duo also supported bands such as Supergrass. Jasmine left the JSF in 2008 to concentrate on solo endeavors. In 2009 she toured solo with Adam Kowalczyk and by 2010 she opened up for Husky Rescue and formed her own rock band.
Kimmo is from Finland and played bass in the popular punk rock band Bitch Alert with whom he recorded 4 studio albums, produced by the renowned Finnish music producer T.T. Oksala. With Bitch Alert Kimmo toured all over the world, supported bands including 3 Colours Red and played at all the main festivals in Finland (Provinssirock a.o.) and European festivals such as RosRock. Playing the Viper Room in LA in 2006 marked their success in the US. Bitch Alert have achieved cult status worldwide. In 2007 Bitch Alert took an indefinite hiatus and Kimmo moved to Amsterdam where he was kidnapped by Jasmine who is in awe of his skills as a bass player and as a noise music composer (Kipul).
Srdjan is originally from Bosnia and moved to Athens, Greece in 1992. He started playing the drums at the age of 13 and studied with the Greek drummer George Polychronakos. In 2003 he left for Holland, Amsterdam, where he studied at the conservatory and earned his bachelor diploma in 2007. He’s played and recorded with many of the best musicians in Greece and the netherlands (Yotis Kiourtsoglou, David Lynch, Dimitris Tsakas, Mark van der Feen a.o.) and played with band such as Levantina, Makrina Ksaderfia, Giorgos Palamiotis Band, Georgia Velivasaki Band. Srdjan was introduced to Jasmine by her record label, Pencilbrain Records, whom also work with Blazin’ Quartet, his other band and North Sea Jazz Festival favorites.
